There are many times in ones life that you need to seek out a living. Many times those choices can  lead you into places you just shouldn't travel alone. One such place is the area arround Netheril. Here things happen that just are not explainable in any way.

Needless to say, on the edge of Netheril there was a merchant that was planning on taking a short cut through reclaimed lands. The cost of traveling arround this area was such that it would be cheaper to pay for an armed escort than to make the long journey around. So happily this merchent set out to hire several men to guard his caraven. Four such men were known as Tsago, Barrake Stoneman, Zephon, and Eben. These four had no idea what they were getting themselves into.

Shortly after joining the Caravan they were pushed to move out, and start their trek across Netheril. This was to be a 2 week travel to and another 2 weeks back. GREAT PAY!!! They just couldn't resist. Other than these four the merchant had hired another twenty-five men to tag along and help guard.

In only a matter of days these four were starting to realize the errors in their ways. This place is crazy, not a night goes by that something doesn't attack them, but all seems good, no one has died yet. These encounters are small and the monsters are strong, just alittle more then annoying. So the Caravan continues on its path.

A week into their journey and things are getting rougher, the monsters are bigger, the groups are larger, and some seem to be more than just a little intelligent. A few of the men have started to die off, or are wounded beyond the repair of any of the clerics in the band. Some of the men have started to talk non-sense, screaming in their sleep, when they can get it.

On the tenth day of there journey, only a few more days left. The scouts have noticed a fairly large gathering ahead in there path. Normally the teamsters would have altered their path arround, but there was no safe passage without turning arround. The Caravan leader pushes farward hoping for the best, this was not to be. As the caravan aproaches the group and the shape begin for form, it is easy to tell that these are not men they will be facing, or rather, not man any longer. These undead are like nothing this band has faced yet. At this point the leader has decided to hold up, and best prepare his defenses.

In no less time then it takes to setup camp, the zombies are on the move, and almost apon the camp. They begin to claw and hack their way past all the guards, many of them falling as they took out a foe. Looks to be about an even fight. As the zombie numbers dwindle to fewer then 10 and the guards are reduced to less then five remaining. Things begin to go in the favor the guards. The zombies are going down!!! In the distance, the four remaining guards, all notice a small, but very bright flash of light entering into the night sky. At this same moment the last of the zombies fall, lifeless to the ground. They had survived the fight, although, no one else had, not even the poor horses and other pack animals.

Picking up what they could, the small, newly formed group drag themselves to safety and rest. Not looking forward to their trek through the rest of Netheril.

The following morning, greatful that there were no more attacks the small band moves off towards the edge, and their salvation. Continueing on without any further trouble more powerful then a hungry rodent.
